SlideShowPro 1.2.4 is now available in the user section for download. A sneaky bug related to column / row calculation was fixed; album title text field now accepts more than one line of text; album descriptions and titles accept rudimentary HTML tags like break, italic, bold, underline, and list item; and a new "imageClick" event was added that fires whenever a user clicks on a loaded image.
This update is free for all purchasers of SlideShowPro 1.0, and available through the User section. Log in to your account to download.
Veerle has offered a tip on her blog for using Photoshop CS2's Image Processor to batch publish images for SlideShowPro. This is probably an "official" version of the one created by Dr. Bott a while back, which was just as handy, but it's good to see it's bundled into the app now. Thanks Veerle!
A new application has been added to the site for download -- Windows XML Generator. Contributed by SlideShowPro user Gregory Riddin, this Windows app automates the process of creating an XML file for SlideShowPro. Simply point it at a directory of images, enter your album data, and presto -- a formatted XML file ready for load. Check it out by clicking the link above.
The portfolio site for photographer Kristopher Grunert is using SlideShowPro as the "engine" for displaying full-screen original photographs. All of SlideShowPro's visual elements (with the exception of the preloader) were turned off, and Event Listeners were used to create a custom thumbnail navigation. To see it in action, click "Open Menu" in the bottom-left corner of the pop-up window and select either "Published" or "Commissioned". This is a great example of what can be done with a little ingenuity and ActionScript skill. Check it out.
One small bug fix and behavioral change with the "imageData" event object, plus a handy HTML publishing template that centers SlideShowPro in the browser window. Check the version history for more information.
This update fixes an issue with the "On Mouse Over" options for "Show Captions", fixes a bug with setting the "Show Captions" parameter dynamically, and adds new visual parameters for "Gallery Background Alpha," "Album Background Alpha" and "Caption Stroke Weight." A free update for all users of 1.0. Login to the user section to download.
