Happy new year! Here comes another free update for all registered users of SlideShowPro. What's new? Mostly bug fixes and usability improvements, but the most notable change is a new "setStartAlbum()" method. A very popular request over the past few months, this method allows you to set (with ActionScript) which album you want SlideShowPro to display first. There were ways to do this before by adding a "startHere" attribute to your XML file, or by using permalink URLs, but "setStartAlbum()" is the most dynamic of the bunch and the easiest to set up. Simply enter the ID of the album you want, plus an optional image number, like so: my_ssp.loadAlbum("nature",20). SlideShowPro will load the requested album at startup instead of the first album in your XML document. This should come in very handy for people who want to assign an album via FlashVars.

Couple of important notes: using "setStartAlbum()" will override "Show Gallery" if it is set to "Startup" (for you are choosing what album you want to begin with). Conversely, if a permalink URL is used when loading your slide show, then the album / image number value of the permalink overrides "setStartAlbum()" (since it is the user that is now choosing which album / image they want).
