10.06.06 | True full screen with Flash Player 9 and SlideShowPro

In case you didn't know, the latest betas of Flash Player 9 include a new full screen mode. Not the same ol' full screen of maximizing the browser 100% in all directions and then scaling the SWF to the browser chrome, but true full screen, as in the Flash Player taking over the entire monitor window like an operating system application.

I couldn't resist trying this with SlideShowPro, so I gave it a try. If your browser is running Flash Player 9, right click on the movie, and you should see a full screen option. Once in full screen mode, right-click again to go back.

For the Intel Mac users out there, I had to downgrade my copy of the Flash Player to 9,0,18,60 in order to get it working in Safari because it apparently doesn't work in the latest version yet (9,0,20,0).

In case some readers don't have Flash Player 9 or simply can't upgrade, I created a quick movie of how it operates.

There are lots of exciting things that can be done with this (presentations, videos, and...photo galleries of course), so you can expect to see plenty of sites using this down the road.
