08.14.08 | Announcing SlideShowPro for Facebook (beta)

Believe it or not, Facebook is considered by some market watchers to be the number one photo sharing site on the web. It's something most people probably don't even think about, considering how many other things there are you can do with a Facebook profile, but the numbers don't lie. There are millions of people using it everyday for all their social interactions, not to mention having a spot to upload their photos to share with friends.

Because of their popularity, we've been asked numerous times how to embed SWFs at Facebook, to which we responded with an admittedly laborious walkthrough detailing how it can be done. It was shortly thereafter that we thought...hey...this would be so much easier to do if SlideShowPro was compiled as a Facebook app instead so that by clicking a single button a Facebook user could have a nice slideshow of their photos on their profile.

So we've done just that with SlideShowPro for Facebook. You simply install the app and add it as a tab to your profile. When loaded, SlideShowPro for Facebook automatically pulls in all your Facebook albums and presents them in a single interface. For simplicity, the app only displays photos you've added to your profile, so if you want to share images from SlideShowPro Director or otherwise, you'll (still) need to embed your own.

And best of all? The app is free. It's considered a beta for we're tweaking some things and adding more themes, but if you'd like to give it a try before the app goes final, go right ahead. And please do contact us if you have any thoughts, issues or suggestions.
